Reports To: Senior ESG Manager
The ESG Consultant will play a key role in guiding organisations through the complex landscape of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) compliance, with a particular focus on the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The role involves helping clients understand their reporting obligations, designing strategies to meet regulatory requirements, and driving impactful sustainability initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients to translate sustainability data into actionable insights, ensuring alignment with global frameworks like the EU Taxonomy, GRI, TCFD, and ISSB Standards.
Advise clients on the implications of CSRD and assist in aligning their reporting with mandatory requirements.
Develop and implement comprehensive sustainability reporting strategies, ensuring compliance with applicable frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
Design data collection processes and templates to streamline reporting across client operations.
Conduct materiality assessments to identify and prioritise key ESG issues.
Assist in preparing ESG reports, including disclosures on environmental impact, social initiatives, and governance structures.
Act as a trusted advisor for clients, providing tailored solutions that align with their industry, size, and stakeholder expectations.
Deliver presentations and training to client teams on CSRD compliance and ESG best practices.
Support clients in engaging internal and external stakeholders on sustainability goals and progress.
Analyse ESG data to provide clients with actionable recommendations for improving their sustainability performance.
Monitor emerging ESG trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to keep clients ahead of compliance requirements.
Collaborate with software partners to leverage data collation and visualisation tools for enhanced reporting.
Develop strategies to help clients achieve long-term sustainability goals, such as carbon neutrality, circular economy integration, and social responsibility improvements.
Facilitate scenario planning and risk assessments to address climate-related risks.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in ESG consulting, sustainability reporting, or related fields.
Proven expertise in CSRD, GRI, or other sustainability reporting frameworks.
Experience conducting materiality assessments and stakeholder engagement.
Deep understanding of ESG frameworks, particularly CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and TCFD.
Proficiency in sustainability reporting tools and data management systems.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and regulatory texts.
Excellent project management, communication, and client-facing skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
